Success Stories
Made In Europe
At a time when the electronics industry is under growing pressure from global competition, supply chain instability, cost sensitivity, and rapid technological change, success stories matter more than ever.
They make progress visible, show that resilient partnerships and practical innovation can deliver results, and provide concrete examples of how companies in the industry can adapt, compete, and grow.
For that reason, CHANGE LIGHT-LY is sharing its own European success stories from the electronics industry – hoping to encourage and inspire other entrepreneurs to take the future into their own hands and to shape the tomorrow of our industry for
Resilience | Sustainability | European Supply Chains | Sovereignty | Innovation
SRM Mikroelektonik
Berlin
Traditional E2MS company, based in Berlin since 1973
Fostering reliable European supply chains
ProudlyEngineeredIn
Europe
Iniative founded in 2025 to support European electronics along the whole supply chain an throughout the whole product life cycle
In 2024, SRM Mikroelektronik GmbH and CHANGE LIGHT-LY joined forces in order to turn around the traditional Berlin EMS company.
Dominik Schmidt, the general manager of SRM, and Jasmin Konnegen, CEO and founder of CHANGE LIGHT-LY have maintained a profound business relationship based on mutual trust and common values which originated during the COVID pandemic.
Back then, SRM was the main supplier of LED PCBs for Jasmin’s employer – a troubled German lighting company that was struck heavily by the pandemic and a series of global lockdowns.
After the pandemic, the business world had been transformed completely and the electronics industry found itself in a position where it required active sales, high online visibility and thorough networking.
Words, that had been alien to most companies in the industry – including SRM.
Therefore, the first project of CHANGE LIGHT-LY was to address and solve these problems for SRM in order to make the company visible, future-proof and a reliable, recognized player on the stage of European electronics.
Therefore, CHANGE LIGHT-LY set out in March 2025 in order to find partners and solutions to make SRM more profitable and visible by digitizing and optimizing its processes and market approach.
It was at the Embedded World in Nuremberg that they had their first encounter with bee produced, a Vienna-based software company that specializes in optimizing EMS quotation and order processing.
Not only did bee produced provide a solution SRM was urgently looking for, they also proved to be the first partner to join SRM and CHANGE LIGHT-LY on their path towards European electronics collaboration and sovereignty.
In 2025 alone, they
- attended 5 European trade shows and events, together
- submitted 2 European funding projects
- increased their visibility and number of followers by 20%
In September 2025, they officially founded the initiative ProudlyEngineeredInEurope – which constitutes its own success story and is to be told separately.
2026
Bee produced is a Vienna-based software company dedicated to making the European electronics industry more visible, resilient, efficient and independent.
In addition to an intelligent BOM formatter that automatically analyses and identifies components and assigns them to manufacturer part numbers, the company also offers comprehensive solutions for EMS companies:
- A customer portal for the EMS industry
- Europe’s first EMS marketplace
Following their first meeting in the StartUp Area at Embedded World 2025, it quickly became clear that bee produced’s solutions were the answer to many of SRM’s challenges:
The marketplace helped to increase reach and contributed to brand awareness and the acquisition of new customers.
The customer portal significantly optimised and made the internal processes of BOM preparation and quotation creation more transparent.
As a result, both products quickly became an integral part of SRM’s daily work.
In addition, synergies were found in other areas:
- SRM was able to provide valuable feedback and suggestions for improving the platform.
- In return, features that were particularly valuable to SRM were prioritised.
Since CHANGE LIGHT-LY and bee produced also shared values and ideas regarding the vision for the future of European electronics, a regular marketing dialogue quickly developed between the two companies.
A strong German-Austrian collaboration was on its way, culminating in the joint design of the website and presentations for the ProudlyEngineeredInEurope initiative, which went live in September 2025.
A joint visit to the SIDO trade show in Lyon in the fall of 2025 ultimately led them to recognize the added value of their partnership and the success story they could share with the French market, and they decided to conquer that market together.
Today, bee produced is just as much a part of SRM’s day-to-day operations as it is of CHANGE LIGHT-LY’s.
They exchange ideas, give each other feedback on marketing strategies and functionalities, and plan presentations and trade fair appearances to capitalise on mutual synergies.
In February 2025, as the newly inaugurated President of the United States sent shockwaves through the international order, whilst Germany had yet to elect its new government, the managing director of SRM Mikroelektronik and the founder of CHANGE LIGHT-LY met in Berlin to coordinate their strategy in these challenging times.
It quickly became clear to both that they did not want to give up or wait until politicians had found solutions and a way forward.
As both are crisis-tested and persevere in their endeavours under difficult conditions, they decided to dedicate their strategy henceforth to promoting the European electronics industry, which lacked key aspects:
- Pride in and awareness of their own capabilities
- International visibility and reach
- Continental cooperation
- Strong sales and digital presence
That is why, from now on, they would be communicating their positive outlook on the future of European electronics to customers, partners and suppliers under the slogan #ProudlyEngineeredInEurope.
They also set out to find like-minded partners who would help them drive this idea forward.
The first partner was found as early as March 2025 at Embedded World:
Bee produced from Vienna was the ideal partner, not only to help SRM overcome the industry-wide challenges, but also to promote and champion the shared vision.
As a European marketplace for the EMS industry and an EMS customer portal, its business model stood for the active promotion of all the goals that ProudlyEngineeredInEurope embodies.
In May 2025, Evertiq in Berlin was the venue for the next significant meeting on the path towards a strong European electronics industry:
CHANGE LIGHT-LY attended a presentation by chipsconnect in the auditorium and learnt how this platform helps to strengthen the supply chains of European companies, particularly during periods of supply shortages.
After registering to explore the platform, the first virtual exchange between the founders of CHANGE LIGHT-LY and chipsconnect soon took place – with the pleasing result that there was a strong alignment in values and goals here too.
And so, in September 2025, CHANGE LIGHT-LY, chipsconnect, SRM and bee produced finally launched the #ProudlyEngineeredInEurope initiative, which they have since promoted on LinkedIn, their own website and at numerous trade fairs and events across Europe.
